Also known as a “Bantu Knot Out”. Potato, patata. Anywho, I did them again. I was itching to do them since the last time. I used the exact same products. As I Am Naturally Twist Defining Cream, Jamaican Black Castor Oil {used to seal my ends and unravel my twists} and good old H2O. My Bantu Knot Out was done on stretched hair {my hair was previously blow dried}. You can stretch your hair without blow drying but I prefer to blow dry. My curls were super soft and bouncy. However, I have two complaints this second time around. My twists were way too small ๐Ÿ™ย  As a result, my hair wasn’t as big as I would’ve liked it because the curls were tight and small. Second complaint, I wish I didn’t flat twist the front. I was trying to be likeย  Jouelzy in her Bantu vs Flat Twist Out video. Sometimes the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I just feel like my curls in the front were tighter and more defined when I didn’t flat twist the hair. I liked the front better the last time I did this style. But it’s all about trial and error. In addition to finding out what works best for my hair. You live and you learn ๐Ÿ™‚

1. First Day Hair

My front curls looked better on the second day because I twisted my hair the night before and put them in Bantu Knots. I didn’t flat twist. Late Sunday night, after aboutย only two days of rocking them, I went back to my good and faithful Celie Twists. I just want braids now! Nice, light, jumbo braids that do not mess up my already thin and sensitive edges.

Below are some videos of Bantu Knot Outs that I adore.

my bantuknot out turned out like yours and nyla k’s. nothing like donedo for sure! My hair frizzes out and loses its coil pattern once I start separating. So i just undo the hair and leave it!
