Ugly Christmas Sweater Party (Friends Edition)

Happy Wednesday!

This past weekend was my 2nd annual ugly Christmas sweater party with my girls. This was my second ugly Christmas sweater party in one week. Last Wednesday I hosted one with my family (see here). The party with my girls was perfect and we also incorporated a vision board party (see here). See our well some of us cute ugly sweaters and the recap below!

Venue

For the second year in a row, my lovely friend Sheila hosted this shindig. Her home is cozy and welcoming. The decor was simple and chic just like her.

Menu

dinner

Our lovely hostess with the mostess made joloff rice (like last year) but this time she used goat meat instead of chicken. This goat meat was so tender.

I haven’t had goat meat that tender since my 27th birthday dinner at Negril Village.

We had wine and Sangria. Pictured below is the yummy sangria that Sheila made and those are apple chunk in it. It was so good, the apples and the sangria. #yumm

I decided not to bring desert this time. Instead I brought a veggie platter. You can slightly see it there off to the right We did have plenty of desert though and some wine (not pictured).

I LOVED Rebecca’s sweater from Marshall’s (men’s section). I loved it even more when she told me that it cost her under 20 bucks! Who doesn’t love a good deal?

Last but not least, Diva the Eva was serving gift wrapping paper with a bow on top. Just like her sister Sheila (hostess with the mostess) she doesn’t do dress codes! However, she was still fabulous!

Vision Boards 2016!

vision boards

We made vision boards for 2016 and then we shared them! See more here, it was awesome and refreshing.

Gift Exchange!

For the gift exchange, we did the same as last year. We wrote our names on small pieces of paper. Then we folded those pieces of paper and put them in a bowl. We randomly picked a name from that bowl. If we picked our name, we would put it back in the bowl and pick another name. Buky picked my name so she got the gift I bought. It was a cute black clutch (pictured above) from ALDO. She absolutely loved it and she said it was just what she needed!

Coincidentally and just like last year, I picked Buky’s name. I got a J.Crew gift card!

Special thanks to Sheila for opening up your home to us again and for cooking a lovely dinner for us again. Great times with great friends. I can’t wait for us to do this again in 2016 God-willing.

See you in the New Year! Thanks for reading and God bless you.
