I am currently LOVING this off shoulder summer trend. These off shoulder tops and dresses are a summer must have. I know this style has been around for ages but I’ve recently noticed it A LOT this summer. Yesterday, I took some leftover cloth to my seamstress Janet. The left over cloth was from my Nsu Bra cloth (pictured below) that I purchased at Eleganza Fashions. Janet made me this skirt below from it.
Six yards of this cloth above cost me $25.00. I recently found out that my seamstress Janet sells six yards of cloth for $20. I think that’s a good deal. So if you want to purchase six yards of cloth for $20, ler me know and I will provide her contact number. She is not online, so you would have to be local and meet her in person to view her cloth options. Otherwise (local or not) Eleganza Fashions is online and ships internationally.
Nothing New Here
As you can see below in this Malick Sidibé photo (peep that off the shoulder action on the left #webeendointhis), this style has been around for ages. As the saying goes, “There is nothing new under the sun”. That includes fashion trends.
Even my mommy is hip!
Initially, I printed out the picture below and asked Janet to use my leftover cloth to create this design. I wanted to rock it with mywhite skinny jeans and black open toe heels. #SummerTimeFine
However, I woke up this morning to find on my blogger dashboard this beautiful off the shoulder top worn by YoungAtSyle. She looks amazing and her outfit is exactly what I pictured for myself. I texted Janet afterwards and asked her to sew for me YoungAtStyle’s design (below) instead. It’s longer then the cropped styled above.
I have created a Pinterest board (here) dedicated to off the shoulder style inspiration. I am currently pinning the pictures below onto this board. I hope it provides some inspiration to you!
I love Yagazie’s caption for her cute Instagram picture above.
So I was in the bar scene in Kuala Lumpur and every other girl had her off-shoulder top on and I was like, “Yesssss, girls! Bare those sparkling shoulders and liveeee in this trend because I’m here for all sorts of skin revealing!” – treat yourself #whatistrendymayneverdie #forthedayisbrightandfullofshoulders #gameoftrends
I am really loving the mixing of prints! I’ve started to notice this trend as well. I want to try it!
