July just started but it’s been an AWESOME start for me and I know it will only get better! Today I am sharing my new hairstyle and off shoulder top I got made. Deets below!
Feeding Cornrows with Single Plaits
Done by: London’s Beautii
My hair was a social media hit! My hairstylist posted this picture here and then afterwards, immediately booked four appointments! One of those appointments was made by my fellow lifestyle blogger boo Ogechi aka 2snapsandatwirl. She told me she was going to copy me and she SLAYED it. See below!
She looks beautiful. I was so excited to refer her to Darlynda and I was happy that I inspired her to get the same style. #SharingisCaring I love referring people to quality services and products. That’s one of the purposes of this blog, to shed light and spread the word with useful information.
#AFRAM Outfit of the Day
AFRAM is the annual African American Festival held in Baltimore, Maryland every July 4th weekend. I decided to rock this look (my hair & off shoulder top) specifically for this festival. I was a volunteer at the cultural village (festival recap here) and I wanted to look super cute. I dedicated a recent post to this off shoulder trend, see Summer Trend Alert: Off Shoulder Styles. My seamstress Janet hooked me up! Janet isn’t on social media but her contact info is below.
Not only were Ogechi and I twinning with our braids but we were twinning with our weekend outfits. I took this picture from her Instagram page here (@2snapsandatwirl). She looks amazing and she made the entire outfit herself! As I mentioned above, she is also lifestyle blogger but currently she is revamping her blog in order to make it better. I will update this post with her blog link once it’s revamped. However, she regularly updates her Instagram page @2snapsandatwirl with all the lovely outfits she is sewing for herself. She has taught herself how to sew. It’s amazing to watch her progress and see the outfits she has made so far. I know she will get better and better and start selling her pieces. It’s only a matter of time!
Below is what curl dreams are made of. As a naturalista, I’ve always wanted to be featured on the @curlbox Instagram page. Thanks to @londonsbeautii, my natural hair dreams came true, see below! Mama we made it!!!!
Braids are so IN this summer and EVERY summer for many black girls. That’s what some of us get in the summer for vacation and for those hot summer days! I love the versatilty of our hair.#BlackGirlMagic
I love when women rock braids with a shaven side as Megan Good below (top right picture, green dress).
I think that’s why I love my braids because the cornrows on the side make me feel like my side is shaven.
I love that look!
