I had the pleasure of attending the The Naturalista Hair Show Fashion Show presented by Curls. It was a beautiful night.
The models were gorgeous and so were many of the runway outfits. The show was hosted by bloggers/stylistas Dayna and Brittany otherwise known as the CHICNaturalistas. I am a fan of their blog and I love their styles. Both ladies looked so GORGEOUS and they did a wonderful job hosting. Peep their slayage here!
I also met Jess aka Mahogany Curls. I’ve been following her and subscribed to her YouTube channel since 2009. It’s been amazing watching her channel and brand grow. She is a SWEETHEART!
The show was lit! I loved loved the models’ hair. Most of them were rocking beautiful crown braids or short cropped natural hair. The show featured models in all shades, shapes and sizes. There was an array of beautiful women and not just a “certain type”. I appreciated the diverse beauty. In addition, the designers showcased were diverse. The designers were Black American , Caribbean and African. Their designs were eclectic and sexy. The ambiance was perfect. I felt like I was at New York Fashion Week. The set up was beautiful and intimate. I can show you, better than I can tell you so be sure to watch my video footage above and hear my commentary!! #GoodTimes
Hair and Outfit of the Night
My stylist Darlynda did my hair and I wore a cute LBD from H&M. It was perfect for the black, white and gold dress code!

The fashion show was excellent and The Naturalista Hair Show (which is a two day event, I only attended the fashion show this year) is one of the best natural hair events in the DMV (if not the best). I went to the first one three years ago ( 2013, recap here) and I was a volunteer. Since then, the show has gotten bigger and better!! It’s always put together well and extremely informative. It feels like a big family reunion so you can attend alone. You will see someone you know or make new curlfriends, trust me. I always run into former classmates from high school, college, and fellow fabulous naturals, etc.Plus there are so many bloggers and vloggers from YouTube that you will definitely meet some of your FAVS! I had a blast!! Angela Walker (the founder of the N Natural Hair Studio, creator of The Naturalista Hair Show & fellow UMD Terp) and her team did an amazing job with this show!!!
Thanks for reading!!! Have a blessed day!! 🙂
